Chemical Type

C8-C10 Branched-Chain Phthalate Mixture

Chemical Description

DINP-1 is one of two CAS numbers associated with diisononyl phthalate — the C9-rich branched mixture. Like DINP-2, it is a 'replacement' phthalate that the industry shifted to as DEHP and shorter-chain phthalates came under restriction. Weaker anti-androgen activity than DEHP, but still flagged under EU REACH for restrictions in children's products that can be mouthed.

How We Keep Di-(C9-rich branched C8-C10-alkyl) Phthalate Out of a House

We do not knowingly install anything containing Di-(C9-rich branched C8-C10-alkyl) Phthalate. Our specifications name the chemistry we refuse, every submittal is screened against it, and substitutions are rejected — which is how a toxin free home stays that way through construction.

If you want a house specified this way from the start, or an existing house assessed for what is already in it, that is the work we do. Earth Bound Homes builds in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, San Mateo County and across the San Francisco Bay Area.
