Chemical Description

DINP-2 is the dominant high-molecular-weight phthalate plasticizer in flexible PVC. Industry promotes it as the safer alternative to DEHP and demonstrably it has weaker anti-androgen activity in standard repro assays. CPSC permanently restricts it from children's toys and childcare articles based on cumulative phthalate exposure modeling, and EU REACH restricts it in children's products that can be mouthed.
