Chemical Description

DINP-2 is the dominant high-molecular-weight phthalate plasticizer in flexible PVC. Industry promotes it as the safer alternative to DEHP and demonstrably it has weaker anti-androgen activity in standard repro assays. CPSC permanently restricts it from children's toys and childcare articles based on cumulative phthalate exposure modeling, and EU REACH restricts it in children's products that can be mouthed.

How We Keep DINP-2 Out of a House

DINP-2 is one of the substances our screening is built to catch. A healthy home is won in the specification and the submittal review, long before anyone opens a bucket on site.

If you want a house specified this way from the start, or an existing house assessed for what is already in it, that is the work we do. Earth Bound Homes builds in Palo Alto, Atherton, Menlo Park and across the San Francisco Bay Area.
